Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
