And the eminent among his people who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter while We had given them luxury in the worldly life said, "This is not but a man like yourselves. He eats of that from which you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 “If you were to obey a human like yourselves, then surely you are losers!” 34 Does he promise you that, after you have died and become [mere] dust and bones, you shall be brought forth [to a new life]? 35 ۞ After, after with that which you are promised! 36 "There is nothing but our life of this world! We die and we live! And we are not going to be resurrected! 37 “He is just a man who has fabricated a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe him.” 38 The messenger said, "My Lord, help me, for they have rejected me." 39 He said: In a little while they surely will become repentant. 40 So the (Awful) Cry overtook them rightfully, and We made them like as wreckage (that a torrent hurleth). A far removal for wrongdoing folk! 41 Then after them We brought forth other generations. 42 No nation can outstrip its term, nor can it put it back. 43 Then We sent Our apostles one after another; whenever there came to a people their apostle, they called him a liar, so We made some of them follow others and We made them stories; so away with a people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear proofs 45 unto Pharaoh and his Council; but they waxed proud, and they were a lofty people, 46 So they said: shall we believe in two human beings like unto us, while their nation are to us slaves? 47 Then they accused them of lies, and joined the company of those who were destroyed. 48 And We verily gave Moses the Scripture, that haply they might go aright. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother as a Sign: We gave them both shelter on high ground, affording rest and security and furnished with springs. 50
