And whoever is averse to the Remembrance of the Most Gracious, We appoint a devil upon him, who stays with him. 36 And verily they hinder them from the way, whilst they deem that they are rightly guided. 37 Till, when he cometh unto Us, he saith (unto his comrade): Ah, would that between me and thee there were the distance of the two horizons - an evil comrade! 38 It will be said [to such a person], "You have done wrong. Having partners in punishment will be of no avail to you today." 39 (Muhammad), can you make the deaf hear or guide the blind or the one who is clearly in error? 40 We shall punish them whether We take you away, 41 or We show you a part of that which We have promised them, for indeed We have power over them. 42 Therefore, hold fast to that which is revealed to you, indeed, you are on the Straight Path. 43 Surely it is a Reminder to thee and to thy people; and assuredly you will be questioned. 44 Ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We have ever made gods, other than the Merciful, to be worshipped. 45
