The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven with its impregnable castles; 1 by the promised day, 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 When they sat by it (fire), 6 to watch what they were doing to the believers, 7 whom they hate for no other reason than that they believe in God, the Almighty, the One to whom all praise is due, 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and believing women, and then do not repent, will surely suffer the punishment of Hell, and the torment of burning. 10 As for the righteously striving believers, they will live in Paradise wherein streams flow. This is the greatest triumph. 11 Surely thy Lord's assault is terrible. 12 Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces, 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Owner of the Throne, the Exalted. 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 the armies of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 God encompasses them from all sides. 20 In fact it (what they deny) is the Noble Qur’an. 21 written on a preserved Tablet. 22
