The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 then he mustered 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
