AND DO NOT think that God is unaware of what the evildoers are doing: He but grants them respite until the Day when their eyes will stare in horror, 42 when they shall run with their necks outstretched and heads erect, their glances never return to themselves, their hearts are empty. 43 And warn people of the day when the chastisement shall come to them, then those who were unjust will say: O our Lord! respite us to a near term, (so) we shall respond to Thy call and follow the apostles. What! did you not swear before (that) there will be no passing away for you! 44 And you lived among the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, and it had become clear to you how We dealt with them. And We presented for you [many] examples." 45 And [this retribution will befall all evildoers because] they devise that false imagery of theirs - and all their false imagery is within God's knowledge. [And never can the blasphemers prevail against the truth - not] even if their false imagery were so [well devised and so powerful] that mountains could be moved thereby. 46 Never think that Allah would fail his messengers in His promise: for Allah is Exalted in power, - the Lord of Retribution. 47 On the Day when the earth is changed into other than the earth and the heavens, all shall come before Allah, the One, the Conqueror. 48 On that Day, you shall see the sinners coupled together in fetters; 49 Their trousers shall be of pitch, and the Fire shall cover their faces. 50 [And all shall be judged on that Day,] so that God may requite every human being for all that he has earned [in life]: verily, God is swift in reckoning! 51 This is a message to be delivered to mankind so that they may be warned by it, and know that He is (Allah) One God, and so all those possessed of minds may remember. 52
