The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn, 2 And your Lord glorify 3 Purify your inner self, 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 Do not bestow favours in expectation of return, 6 And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. 7 And [warn all men that] when the trumpet-call [of resurrection] is sounded, 8 Truly, that Day will be a Hard Day. 9 For the unbelievers, anything but easy. 10 Leave him to Me, the one whom I created single. 11 And give him vast riches, 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 And made (life) smooth for him. 14 And who yet coveteth that shall increase. 15 Never. He is refractory of Our signs. 16 We shall make him suffer the torment of hell without relief. 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 Ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 19 Again, death seize him, how he determined! 20 Then he thought; 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 Then he turned back and was big with pride, 23 and said, "This is nothing but sorcery from the ancients. 24 It is nothing but the word of a mortal' 25 I will drive him into Saqar. 26 and what will teach thee what is Sakar? 27 It leaves nothing, nor does it spare; 28 Blackening the skins. 29 and it has nineteen angelic keepers. 30 And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals. 31
