By the moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 Warn the men. 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 about the guilty ones: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As they were frightened asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
