Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 Urge with your foot; here is a cool washing-place and a drink. 42 And We gave him (back) his people, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who have Understanding. 43 And We said, “Take a broom in your hand and strike her with it, and do not break your vow”; We indeed found him patiently enduring; what an excellent bondman! He is indeed most inclined. 44 Remember Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- possessors of strength and vision. 45 Lo! We purified them with a pure thought, remembrance of the Home (of the Hereafter). 46 and in Our sight they are of the chosen, the excellent. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhu al-Kifl. All were of the best. 48 Such is their noble story. The pious ones will certainly have the best place to return. 49 The gardens of perpetuity, the doors are opened for them. 50 Reclining therein, calling therein for many fruits and drink. 51 ۞ They will have bashful wives of equal age with them. 52 This is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning: 53 Most surely this is Our sustenance; it shall never come to an end; 54 All this (is for the God-fearing). But for the transgressors, an evil resort awaits them -- 55 Gehenna, wherein they are roasted - an evil cradling! 56 Yea, such! - then shall they taste it,- a boiling fluid, and a fluid dark, murky, intensely cold!- 57 and other sufferings of the kind. 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 They will say: "In fact, it is you who will have no welcome. It is you who brought this upon us. What an evil place of rest!" 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 And they will say, "Why do we not see men whom we used to count among the worst? 62 Did we take them (wrongly) for a laughing-stock, or have our eyes missed them? 63 That most surely is the truth: the contending one with another of the inmates of the fire. 64
