And indeed, We delivered the children of Israel from the shameful suffering 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge, above all beings, 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 'There is nothing but our first death; we shall not be revived. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 We created them not save with a purpose but most of them know not. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped, 41 Except such as receive Allah's Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 42
