Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay, by the moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 A warning for people -- 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 About the guilty: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So the intercession of the intercessors will not benefit them. (The disbelievers will not have any intercessor.) 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
