Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
