Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 wherein they will not hear any vain talk. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 and arranged cushions 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And how the earth was outstretched? 20 And so, [O Prophet,] exhort them; thy task is only to exhort: 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
