Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)

۞ The sure calamity! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 Pharoah and those before him and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities persistently committed grave sins. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In an elevated garden, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 Then into a chain whose length is seventy cubits insert him." 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
