The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By heaven of the constellations, 1 And the promised day, 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 the fire abounding in fuel, 5 They sat by it 6 witnessing what they were doing. 7 and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised, 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 Executor of His own will. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 Aye! it is a Recitation glorious, 21 in a Guarded Tablet. 22
