Does it not guide the people who inherit the land from former people that We can punish them for their sins if We will? And seal up their hearts so that they would not be able to lend an ear to words of guidance? 100 (Muhammad), such were the stories of the people who lived in (different) towns in the past. We had sent Our Messengers to them with (certain) miracles but the people still did not believe in what they had rejected before. Such is how God seals the hearts of the unbelievers. 101 And We did not find for most of them any covenant; but indeed, We found most of them defiantly disobedient. 102 After those We sent forth Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his assembly, but with it they harmed. Look at the end of the corrupters. 103 Moses said: 'Pharaoh, I am a Messenger from the Lord of the Worlds, 104 "I am duty bound to speak nothing of God but the truth I have brought from your Lord a clear sign; so let the people of Israel depart with me." 105 Pharaoh said: if you have brought a sign, then bring it forth if you are truthful.' 106 So he threw his rod, then lo! it was a clear serpent. 107 Then he drew out his hand and it was luminous to the onlookers. 108
