Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. 1 These are Verses of the Wise Book (the Quran). 2 A guidance and a mercy for the well-doers: 3 Who are constant in devotion, pay the zakat, and are certain of the Hereafter. 4 these are rightly guided by their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 But among men there are some who spend their time in idle diversions only to lead people astray from the path of God, and without knowledge, hold it up to ridicule: for such there is a humiliating punishment in store. 6 And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in pride as if he heard them not, as if there were a deafness in his ears. So give him tidings of a painful doom. 7 For those who believe and work righteous deeds, there will be Gardens of Bliss,- 8 To dwell therein. The promise of Allah is true: and He is Exalted in Power, Wise. 9 He has created the heavens without any pillars, that you see and has set on the earth firm mountains, lest it should shake with you. And He has scattered therein moving (living) creatures of all kinds. And We send down water (rain) from the sky, and We cause (plants) of every goodly kind to grow therein. 10 This is the creation of Allah; shew me that which those beside Him have created. Aye! the wrong-doers are in error manifest. 11
