Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha Mim 1 This is a revelation from the Compassionate, the Merciful. 2 a divine writ, the messages whereof have been clearly spelled out as a discourse in the Arabic tongue for people of [innate] knowledge, 3 one bearing good news and warning. Yet most of them turned away and are not wont to give heed. 4 They say: 'Our hearts are veiled from that to which you call us, and in our ears there is heaviness. And between us and you is a veil. So work (as you will) and we are working' 5 Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'I am only a human like you, to whom it is revealed that your God is One God. Therefore be straight with Him and ask Him to forgive you. Woe to the idolaters, 6 Those who do not give zakah, and in the Hereafter they are disbelievers. 7 For those who believe and do good works is an enduring wage' 8
