Therefore continue to remind, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer, or a madman. 29 Or say they: a poet for whom we wait some adverse turn of fortune! 30 say [to them], "Wait then: I too am waiting along with you!" -- 31 Does their reasoning prompt them to this, or they are a people rebellious? 32 Or do they say: "He himself has composed this [message]"? Nay, but they are not willing to believe! 33 So let them bring a single discourse like it, if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created out of naught? Or are they the creators? 35 Did they create the heavens and the earth? No! They have no faith. 36 Or do they have the treasures of your Lord, or are they the authority? 37 Or do they have a ladder whereon they can climb and attempt to listen (to what is transpiring in the Higher Realm)? Then, let any of them who has listened to it produce a clear proof of it. 38 Or has He only daughters and ye have sons? 39 Or is it that thou dost ask for a reward, so that they are burdened with a load of debt?- 40 Is with them the Unseen, and they write it down! 41 Or do they desire a war? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished ones in war. 42 Or do they have a God besides Allah? Purity is to Allah from their ascribing of partners to Him. 43 And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up." 44 So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible - 45 The Day when their guile shall not relieve them a thing, and they shall not be helped. 46 And verily for those who do wrong there is a torment before that; but most of them know not. 47 And wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, for surely you are before Our eyes, and sing the praise of your Lord when you rise; 48 And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars. 49
