The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Most surely it is a decisive word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
