The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Did you see him who forbids 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 He would enjoin piety, so how good it would be! 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 No indeed! Do not obey him, but prostrate yourself and come closer to God. ۩ 19
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
