Do not those who disbelieve see that the heavens and the earth were closed up, but We have opened them; and We have made of water everything living, will they not then believe? 30 And We placed within the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with them, and We made therein [mountain] passes [as] roads that they might be guided. 31 And We have made the heaven a guarded canopy and (yet) they turn aside from its signs. 32 It is He who created night and day, the sun and the moon, revolving on its orbit. 33 And before you, We did not appoint on earth a never-ending life for any human; will they, if you depart, become immortal? 34 Every soul is going to taste of death, and We shall prove you with evil and good as a temptation; and unto Us ye shall be returned. 35 When those who deny the truth see you, they laugh at you, saying, "Is this the one who talks of your deities?" Yet it is they who deny all mention of the Gracious One. 36 Man is hasty by nature. I shall certainly show you My Signs. Do not ask Me to be hasty. 37 And they say: When will this threat come to pass if you are truthful? 38 If only those who disbelieve have known of the time when they shall not be able to ward off from their faces the Fire nor from their backs, nor shall they be succoured! 39 Nay, but it shall come upon them suddenly, dumbfounding them, and they shall not be able to repel it, nor shall they be respited. 40 Other Messengers before you were also mocked, but those who scoffed at the Messengers were overtaken by the same scourge that they had scoffed at. 41
