The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Successful indeed are the believers, 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 Save in regard to their spouses and those whom their right hands own: so they are not blameworthy 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 And they who carefully maintain their prayers - 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 and then We create out of the drop of sperm a germ-cell, and then We create out of the germ-cell an embryonic lump, and then We create within the embryonic lump bones, and then We clothe the bones with flesh - and then We bring [all] this into being as a new creation: hallowed, therefore, is God, the best of artisans! 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
