And the dwellers of the Rock certainly rejected the apostles; 80 We gave them Our signs, but they turned away from them. 81 They would carve secure houses out of the mountains. 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 Out of what they had gained, nothing proved to be of any benefit to them. 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 Your Lord is indeed the Creator of all, the All-Knowing. 86 And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an. 87 Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 Even as We sent down on the dividers 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 Now by thy Lord, We shall surely question them all together 92 For that which they have been working. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 Those who set up another god with Allah; so they shall soon know. 96 Indeed, We know that your breast is straitened at what they say. 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. 99

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
