Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he went to his home – so he brought a healthy calf. 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” 29 They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 To send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 So We removed the people who had faith, from that town. 35 for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 The Pharaoh and his forces turned away from him, saying, "He is either a magician or an insane person". 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. 42 And in [the story of the tribe of] Thamud, too, when they were told, "You shall enjoy your life for [but] a little while," 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46
