The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 And the mountains shall be made to crumble with (an awful) crumbling, 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 [And this will be] a reward for what they did [in life]. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 As for those of the right hand -- how (happy) those of the right hand -- 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 and shade extended, 30 And water gushing, 31 And abundant fruit, 32 Neither limited [to season] nor forbidden, 33 and raised couches 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 For those on the right hand; 38
