And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?” 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 Do they help or harm you?" 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 you and those ancient forebears of yours? 76 Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds, 77 Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me. 78 and is the One who gives me to eat and to drink, 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 "And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again); 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And appoint for me an honourable mention among the posterity 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 “Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.) 89 And the Garden shall be brought nigh to the God-fearing. 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 besides God? Can they help you or even help themselves?" 93 Then they shall be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 By Allah! we were certainly in manifest error, 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 And no one misguided us except the criminals. 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 no loyal friend. 101 Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers." 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
