A Sign for them is the earth that is dead: We do give it life, and produce grain therefrom, of which ye do eat. 33 And there We made gardens of palms and vines, and in it We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 So that they may eat of its fruit; yet it was not done by their hands. Then why do they not acknowledge thanks? 35 Limitless in His glory is He who has created opposites in whatever the earth produces, and in men's own selves, and in that of which [as yet] they have no knowledge. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip the day out of it, thereupon they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs its course for its final destination; this is a command of the Almighty, the All Knowing. 38 how We ordained the moon to pass through certain phases until it seems eventually to be like a bent twig; 39 It behoves not the sun to overtake the moon, neither does the night outstrip the day, each swimming in a sky. 40 And a sign for them is that We lodged them in a laden ship, while they were in their forefathers backs. 41 And We made similar vessels for them to ride. 42 We drown them if We will, then they have none to cry to, nor can they be saved, 43 It is only Our Mercy (that rescues them) and enables enjoyment of life for a while. 44 When it is said to them: 'Have fear of that which is before you and behind you in order that you find mercy' 45 And never came an Ayah from among the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them: “Spend (in the Way of Allah) out of the sustenance that Allah has provided you,” the unbelievers say to the believers: “Shall we feed him whom, Allah would have fed, had He so wished?” Say: “You are in evident error.” 47 The unbelievers say, "When will the Day of Judgment come if what you say is at all true?" 48 The Truth is that they are waiting for nothing but a mighty Blast to seize them the while they are disputing (in their worldly affairs), 49 then they will not be able to make any testament, nor will they return to their people. 50
