And remember thou Our bondman Ayyub, what time he cried unto his Lord: verily the Satan hath touched me with affliction and suffering. 41 'Stamp thy foot! This is a laving-place cool, and a drink.' 42 And We gave him (back) his people, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who have Understanding. 43 and, 'Take in thy hand a bundle of rushes, and strike therewith, and do not fail in thy oath.' Surely We found him a steadfast man. How excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 44 Remember Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob -- possessors of strength and vision. 45 We indeed gave them distinction with a genuine affair – the remembrance of the (everlasting) abode. 46 and in Our sight they are of the chosen, the excellent. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. Every one of them is among the best. 48 This was a remembrance. An excellent retreat awaits the God-fearing 49 Gardens of Eden with gates open wide to them, 50 Reclining within them, they will call therein for abundant fruit and drink. 51 ۞ with them, they will have pure, modest women of an equal age. 52 This it is what you (Al-Muttaqun - the pious) are promised for the Day of Reckoning! 53 Lo! this in truth is Our provision, which will never waste away. 54 This (shall be so); and most surely there is an evil resort for the inordinate ones; 55 Hell; which they shall enter; what an evil resting-place! 56 This - so let them taste it - is scalding water and [foul] purulence. 57 And other (punishment) of the same kind-- of various sorts. 58 [And they will say to one another: "Do you see] this crowd of people rushing headlong to join you?" "No welcome to them! Indeed, they are headed for the fire!" 59 They will say: "In fact, it is you who will have no welcome. It is you who brought this upon us. What an evil place of rest!" 60 They say, “Our Lord! Whoever has brought this calamity upon us – double the punishment of the fire for him!” 61 And they will say, "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we used to count among the wicked, 62 "Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 This contending of the inmates of Hell will surely be real. 64
