Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the Glorious Morning Light, 1 And by oath of the night when it covers, 2 your Lord has not forsaken you, nor is He displeased with you, 3 The Last shall be better for you than the First. 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Did He not find you as an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And find you lost (that is, unrecognized by men) and guide (them to you)? 7 And find you in want and make you to be free from want? 8 Therefore, as for the orphan, do not oppress (him). 9 and do not reject the beggars 10 and as for thy Lord's blessing, declare it. 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
