(O Messenger! Remind the Muslims of the occasion) when you went forth from your home at early dawn (to the battlefield of Uhud) and placed the believers in battle arrays. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 121 When two of your bands were about to lose heart God befriended them; and in Him should the faithful place their trust. 122 Allah had already given you the victory at Badr, when ye were contemptible. So observe your duty to Allah in order that ye may be thankful. 123 [And remember] when you said to the believers, "Does it not suffice that your Lord helps you by sending down three thousand angels? 124 Certainly, if you have patience and piety, even if the enemy attacks immediately after this, God will help you with another force of five thousand angels, all splendidly (and or distinctly marked) dressed. 125 Allah ordained this only as a message of good cheer for you, and that thereby your hearts might be at rest - Victory cometh only from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise - 126 and so that He might cut off a portion of those who are bent on denying the truth or abase them so that they might be turned back frustrated. 127 It is no concern at all of thee (Muhammad) whether He relent toward them or punish them; for they are evil-doers. 128 To God belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth: He may pardon whom He please and punish whom He will. Yet God is forgiving and kind. 129
