Al-Aadeyaat

The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

(I swear) by the snorting chargers (of the warriors), whose hoofs strike against the rocks 1 Then those striking sparks of fire, 2 while running during a raid at dawn, 3 thereby raising clouds of dust, 4 Then penetrate to the centre of the enemy army. 5 That man is ungrateful to his Lord 6 To this he himself shall bear witness. 7 And verily in the love of wealth he is vehement, 8 ۞ But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered 9 And that which is (locked up) in (human) breasts is made manifest- 10 Surely on that Day will their Lord be fully informed about them. 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
