And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down; 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And verily it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 What! do they still seek to hasten on Our punishment? 204 But hast thou ever considered [this]: If We do allow them to enjoy [this life] for some years, 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 And the satans have not brought it down. 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment. 213 Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen. 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 And rely upon (Allah) the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 Who listens to you (for spreading rumours); but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227
