Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
