Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 Till an appointed term, 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 for the living and the dead, 26 Set We not therein soaring mountains? Sated you with sweetest water? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
