The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, demand full measure, 2 And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 on a Great Day, 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Woe, on that Day, to those who reject, 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 On thrones, watching. 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 And whenever they saw them, they would say, "Behold! These are the people truly astray!" 32 And withal, they have no call to watch over [the beliefs of] others... 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 [for, resting in paradise] on couches, they will look on [and say to themselves]: 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? 36
