The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read with the name of your Lord Who created, 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Bountiful One 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Hast thou seen if he relieth on the guidance (of Allah) 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- 15 A lying, sinful forelock! 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
