The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 We saved him and all of his family 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
