Al-Najm 3 of 3
Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
