The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 And made the night as clothing 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves, 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 save boiling water and a stinking fluid -- 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
