Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Woe to every scorner and mocker 1 Who has gathered wealth and counted it, 2 He thinks that his wealth will immortalise him forever. 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 It is the Fire kindled by Allah, 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 it closes in on them from every side 8 In pillars stretched forth. 9

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
