The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O, you, wrapped in your cloak, 1 Arise and warn, 2 proclaim the greatness of your Lord, 3 and purify your clothing, 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of Allah's obedience as a favour to Allah). 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded, 8 Truly, that Day will be a Hard Day. 9 For the disbelievers - not easy. 10 LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 And gave him sons present before him. 13 And for whom I smoothed everything. 14 Then he desires that I should add more. 15 Nay! For lo! he hath been stubborn to Our revelations. 16 I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa'ud, or to) face a severe torment! 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 Let him be destroyed. How he calculated! 20 Then he looked, 21 frowned and scowled; 22 then turned back, and swelling-up with pride, 23 He said, 'This is naught but a trumped-up sorcery; 24 This is naught else than speech of mortal man. 25 Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It neither spares, nor releases, 28 Scorching the skin. 29 and it has nineteen angelic keepers. 30 We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. 31
