And when the sent angels came to the house of Lut. 61 he said, "You seem to be strangers". 62 They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. 63 We bring you the truth, and indeed we are truthful. 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 We communicated to him Our decree that the guilty ones would be destroyed by the morning. 66 The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men). 67 [Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me. 68 "And do not disgrace me. Have some fear of God." 69 They said, 'Have we not forbidden thee all beings?' 70 He said, 'These are my daughters, if you would be doing.' 71 By your life! they were blindly wandering on in their intoxication. 72 Then the shout took hold of them at the sunrise. 73 And We made the upside there of downwards, and We rained on them stones of baked clay. 74 Herein are really signs for those who discern. 75 And verily they are on a pathway lasting. 76 Surely! Therein is indeed a sign for the believers. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 So We took vengeance on them. Both are still there on the highway, plain for all to see. 79
