The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those [angels] who range themselves in close ranks 1 and the scarers scaring 2 And those who recite the message, 3 Indeed your God is surely only One. 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the planets, 6 And (there is) a safeguard against every rebellious Shaitan. 7 (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side, 8 Outcast, and theirs is a perpetual torment; 9 And if any is able to snatch a fragment, he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So ask them, are they stronger in constitution, or those whom We have created. We have created them of sticky clay. 11 You marvel (at the wondrous creations of Allah) and they scoff at it, 12 And when they are reminded, they mind not, 13 When they see a sign, they laugh at it, 14 and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery. 15 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised (again)? 16 Or our fathers of yore? 17 Say: "Yea, indeed - and most abject will you then be!" 18 There will be a single stern rebuff and lo, they will be observing with their own eyes (all that they had been warned against). 19 They will say, "Ah! Woe to us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
