Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
