The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are united, 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
