Moses said, "My Lord! open up my heart, 25 And ease for me my task 26 “And untie the knot of my tongue.” 27 so that they may understand my speech, 28 Appoint for me of my folk a familiar, 29 Harun, my brother. 30 "Add to my strength through him, 31 and let him share my task, 32 that we may abundantly extol Your glory; 33 and remember Thee abundantly. 34 Surely Thou seest into us.' 35 Said He, 'Thou art granted, Moses, thy petition. 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 When We revealed to your mother what was revealed; 38 "'Throw (the child) into the chest, and throw (the chest) into the river: the river will cast him up on the bank, and he will be taken up by one who is an enemy to Me and an enemy to him': But I cast (the garment of) love over thee from Me: and (this) in order that thou mayest be reared under Mine eye. 39 Then your sister followed you, and said (to the people who had retrieved the child): 'Should I guide you to a person who can nurse him?' We thus brought you back to your mother that her heart may be cheered, and she may not grieve. (Remember) when you killed a man We saved you from anguish; and tested and steeled you (in other ways). Afterwards you sojourned for several years with the people of Midian; then you came up to the measure, 40 "And I have prepared thee for Myself (for service)".. 41 Go with My signs, you and your brother, and do not be lax in remembering Me. 42 "Go, both of you, to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed (all bounds in disbelief and disobedience and behaved as an arrogant and as a tyrant). 43 But speak unto him in a mild manner, so that he might bethink himself or [at least] be filled with apprehension. 44 They said, "Lord, we are afraid of his transgression and rebellion against us". 45 He said: "Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see (everything). 46 So go you both to him and say: Surely we are two apostles of your Lord; therefore send the children of Israel with us and do not torment them! Indeed we have brought to you a communication from your Lord, and peace is on him who follows the guidance; 47 It has been revealed to us that chastisement awaits those who called the lie to the truth and turned away from it.' " 48 (Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses? 49 He said, “Our Lord is One Who gave everything its proper shape, then showed the path.” 50 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "What about the generations of old?" 51 He replied: "The knowledge of that is with my Lord, duly recorded: my Lord never errs, nor forgets,- 52 He it is Who spread the earth for you; and made in it paths for you, and sent down water from the sky, and then through it We brought forth many species of diverse plants. 53 (Saying): Eat ye and feed your cattle. Lo! herein verily are portents for men of thought. 54
