By the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 Warn the men. 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 we fed not the needy, 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As they were frightened asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
