The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
