Now whatever calamity may befall you [on Judgment Day] will be an outcome of what your own hands have wrought, although He pardons much; 30 you cannot escape Him anywhere on earth. You have no protector or helper other than God. 31 And among His signs are the ships that run on the sea like mountains and 32 if He will, He calms the wind so that they remain motionless upon its back, surely, there are signs in this for every thankful, patient (person). 33 Or He may destroy them because of that which they have earned, and He may pardon many of them. 34 Those who dispute Our verses may know that they have no asylum. 35 Whatever thing you have been given is the enjoyment of the present life; but what is with God is better and more enduring for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord. 36 Those who avoid the greater crimes and shameful deeds, and, when they are angry even then forgive; 37 And those who respond to their Lord and keep up prayer, and their rule is to take counsel among themselves, and who spend out of what We have given them. 38 and those who, when suffering a great injustice, seek to defend themselves. 39 The recompense of evil is evil the like of it. But he who forgives and makes amends, his reward lies with Allah. Surely He does not love the wrong-doers. 40 And whosoever vindicateth himself after wrong done to him; these! against them there is no way of blame. 41 blame falls only on those who wrong men and transgress on this earth without justification, such will have a painful punishment, 42 To exercise patience and forgive (the wrong done to one) is the proof of genuine determination. 43
